Bryan Station Middle Earns State Prize in AI Challenge

Seventh graders from Bryan Station Middle School took first place in the Kentucky Track 1 category of the 2026 Presidential AI Challenge, which received over 2,500 entries. Liam Morrison, Marta Castillo Quintana, Renata Rios-Felix, and Alexa Johnson submitted a project titled “AI Safety Locator.” They now advance to the U.S. Eastern Region to compete for a chance to present at the national championship in Washington, D.C.

This student team is led by teacher Laura Duffy, who coordinates the AVID elective classes at Bryan Station. 

In the Presidential AI Challenge, K-12 students, teachers, mentors, and community teams come together to solve real-world problems using AI-powered solutions.
